BLISS Teacher Leader

BLISS: Building Literacy in the Social Studies is a social studies Teacher Leader education program for middle and high school teachers. Through a partnership between Center for Inspired Teaching and DCPS, the program trains teachers in inquiry-based instruction, creates College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) aligned curricula, and provides the opportunity for students to experience 21st century social studies instruction that develops problem solving, critical thinking, and literacy skills.

This is a yearlong fellowship opportunity, starting the summer of 2015, and is open to DCPS middle and high school social studies teachers. Click here to learn more and apply.

Inspired Teaching Fellow

Through a 24-month residency program, Inspired Teaching Fellows are prepared for successful and sustainable careers as teachers and changemakers in Washington, DC while earning a DC teaching license and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Through a yearlong residency, Fellows learn the skills and dispositions of an Inspired Teacher under the guidance of a lead teacher, arming them with the knowledge and experience necessary for a smooth transition into their teaching career. In their second year, as teachers of record in District of Columbia public schools, Fellows continue to receive intensive classroom mentoring. Fellows pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching at Trinity Washington University during both years of the program.

SCALE Teacher Leader

SCALE: Science Curriculum Advancement through Literacy Enhancement is a Science Teacher Leader education program for K-12 teachers. Through a partnership between DCPS and Center for Inspired Teaching, the program trains teachers in inquiry-based instruction, creates Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned curricula, and provides the opportunity for students to experience 21st century science instruction that develops problem solving, critical thinking, and literacy skills.

Director of Academic Partnerships

For 20 years, Center for Inspired Teaching has been engaging teachers as partners in education reform through our ground-breaking, innovative approach to teacher preparation and professional development. We are seeking an experienced, progressive educator to serve as Director of Academic Partnerships. The Director of Academic Partnerships leads the cultivation and support of strategic partnerships for the Inspired Teacher Certification Program, which recruits, selects, prepares, certifies, and supports highly qualified individuals who wish to serve the children of the District of Columbia as teachers. Through this state-accredited 24-month teacher residency program each Inspired Teaching Fellow is prepared for a successful and sustainable career as a teacher and changemaker in Washington, DC while earning a DC teaching license and a Master of Arts in Teaching from our partner, Trinity Washington University. Master/Lead Teacher, Inspired Teaching Demonstration School

The Inspired Teaching School is now accepting applications for Lead/Master Teachers for the 2015-16 school year. The school is seeking self-motivated, dynamic, and thoughtful individuals with proven progressive, inquiry-based teaching skills to join the faculty. In 2015-16, the school will serve preschool-7th grade and will grow to preschool–8th grade in the 2016-17 school year.
