Inspired Teaching Fellow

Through a 24-month residency program, Inspired Teaching Fellows are prepared for successful and sustainable careers as teachers and changemakers in Washington, DC while earning a DC teaching license and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Through a year-long residency, Fellows learn the skills and dispositions of an Inspired Teacher under the guidance of a lead teacher, arming them with the knowledge and experience necessary for a smooth transition into their teaching career. In their second year, as teachers of record in District of Columbia public schools, Fellows continue to receive intensive classroom mentoring. Fellows pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching at Trinity Washington University during both years of the program.

Independent Contractor Positions: First Year Teacher Mentors

Center for Inspired Teaching, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit education organization, is seeking mentors to support new teachers enrolled in the Inspired Teacher Certification Program. Director of Academic Partnerships

For 20 years, Center for Inspired Teaching has been engaging teachers as partners in education reform through our ground-breaking, innovative approach to teacher preparation and professional development. We are seeking an experienced, progressive educator to serve as Director of Academic Partnerships. The Director of Academic Partnerships leads the cultivation and support of strategic partnerships for the Inspired Teacher Certification Program, which recruits, selects, prepares, certifies, and supports highly qualified individuals who wish to serve the children of the District of Columbia as teachers. Through this state-accredited 24-month teacher residency program each Inspired Teaching Fellow is prepared for a successful and sustainable career as a teacher and changemaker in Washington, DC while earning a DC teaching license and a Master of Arts in Teaching from our partner, Trinity Washington University. Development & Communications Internship

Center for Inspired Teaching, a growing DC-based nonprofit dedicated to social change through improving classroom instruction, is seeking a focused and self-directed individual with strong organizational, research, administrative, writing, and communications skills to serve as an intern for our Development and Communications Departments. The intern will support these departments through grant research, database management (Salesforce), drafting formal and informal communications, and other projects to support Inspired Teaching as we share our story.  This internship provides an opportunity for an individual to apply their skills directly to the nonprofit sector and to learn by doing. Special Education Teacher, Inspired Teaching Demonstration School

Inspired Teaching special education staff possess the beliefs, skills, and accomplishments that lead all students to achieve at high levels, particularly those students who have been identified as needing supplemental services. To establish a true professional learning community, all adults in the building are considered educators, as they all interact regularly with students. Special education staff must be deeply committed to creating a school that not only provides an excellent education for the student, but that creates an open, trusting learning environment for all educators.
